Levent Çavaş completed his Master’s and PhD studies at the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Dokuz Eylül University, in 2000 and 2005, respectively. His main research areas include the biochemistry and biotechnology of invasive marine algae in the Mediterranean, antifouling paints, and bioinformatics.
He has served as the principal investigator for 9 TÜBİTAK projects and 2 European Union projects, and he is currently a Core Group member and Grant Awarding Coordinator of the COST Action E-NICHE.
Levent Çavaş is also a member of the Scientific Committee of the World Underwater Federation (CMAS). He has published 105 international articles, which have received 3,158 citations. He is currently a faculty member at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Dokuz Eylül University.

Dokuz Eylül University - Faculty of EngineeringDr. Can Özgür Çolpan is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Dokuz Eylül University, specializing in fuel cells, hydrogen technologies, and integrated energy systems. His research focuses on the modeling and simulation of fuel cells and electrolyzers, techno-economic analysis of green hydrogen, membrane reactors for hydrogen generation, power-to-gas systems, fuel cell vehicles, hydrogen storage, and electrochemical hydrogen compressors. He has authored over 200 scientific works, including journal articles, books, chapters, and patents, and has taken active roles in more than 30 international conferences as chair or committee member. He is the Assistant Subject Editor of the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy. His contributions have been recognized with prestigious awards such as the Turkish Academy of Sciences Outstanding Young Scientist Award (TÜBA-GEBİP) and the METU Prof. Dr. Mustafa N. Parlar Research Encouragement Award.
