Dokuz Eylül University (DEU) is a major public research university based in İzmir, Türkiye. Since its founding in 1982, DEU has emerged as a hub of higher education and innovation in the Aegean Region and beyond.
DEU currently hosts around 63,000–65,000 students overall, including thousands of international students from over 100 countries. It is structured into 18 faculties, 10 graduate schools and institutes, one conservatory, and multiple vocational schools and research centers.
DEU is recognized for its strong internationalization efforts: it was selected in 2018 as one of 20 pilot universities by Turkey’s Higher Education Council (YÖK) for rolling out internationalization strategies.

Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences
The Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences (Fen Bilimleri Ensitüsü, FBE) at Dokuz Eylül University (DEU) is one of the leading academic units in Türkiye dedicated to graduate education, scientific research, and innovation in the fields of natural sciences, engineering, and technology.
Since its establishment, the Graduate School has been committed to fostering advanced education and producing highly qualified scientists, researchers, and professionals. It coordinates and administers a wide range of master’s and doctoral programs across diverse disciplines such as engineering, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, earth sciences, and environmental studies.
